The North American Indian Garden is one of the 6 parts of the Rainbow Gardens. The plants growing here were grown in the America's by the Indians before 1492 when Columbus made his voyage of discovery. Corn, beans, squash (and pumpkins) Jeruselum artichokes and tobacco are displayed. The tall corn provides stalks for the beans to climb up. The pumpkin vines keep the soil cool and moist and help control the weeds. |
