Cloth and Color Garden

Plants are used to make and dye all kinds of clothing, from t-shirts to blue jeans. Growing in the Cloth and Color Garden are cotton, indigo, flax, and dye plants. Also here is Teasel (used to raise the nap on cloth), soapwort (for washing) and lavender (for scenting clothes). The weaving frame in the forground demonstrates how fabric is woven.
